How do you know where a new sentence begins?

As a language model, I don't "know" anything in the way a human does. I don't have a conscious understanding of language, but I can identify the start of a new sentence based on a few key signals:

* Capitalization: Sentences typically start with a capital letter.

* Punctuation: A sentence ends with a period (.), question mark (?), or exclamation mark (!). This signals that a new sentence is about to begin.

* Spacing: There's usually a space between the end of one sentence and the beginning of the next.

* Context: I can use the surrounding text to determine if a sentence is complete. For example, if the text is a list, a new sentence might begin with a bullet point.

While these are the most common indicators, there are exceptions. For example, some sentences might not be capitalized or end with a punctuation mark (e.g., in dialogue).

Overall, my ability to identify sentence boundaries relies on recognizing these patterns in the text.
