Action verbs:

State of being verbs:
* Is: The sky is blue.
* Are: We are happy to be here.
* Was: He was tired after the long day.
* Were: They were excited for the party.
* Be: Be kind to others.
Helping verbs:
* Do: Do you like pizza?
* Does: She does her homework every day.
* Did: We did our best.
* Will: I will go to the store later.
* Have: I have been working hard.
Other types of verbs:
* Modal verbs: Can, could, may, might, should, would, must
* Phrasal verbs: Look up, break down, put off
To find out if a word is a verb, ask yourself:
* Does the word describe an action?
* Does the word describe a state of being?
* Does the word help another verb?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then the word is likely a verb!
