What part of speech is makeshift?

"Makeshift" can be two parts of speech:

* Adjective: Describing something that is temporary or improvised.

* Example: "They built a makeshift shelter out of branches."

* Noun: A temporary or improvised substitute for something else.

* Example: "The broken chair was replaced with a makeshift from an old box."

So the part of speech depends on how it's used in a sentence.
