What does an imperative sentence end with?

An imperative sentence ends with a period (.).

While it's true that imperative sentences are commands, they don't always end with an exclamation point (!). The exclamation point is used to add emphasis or excitement to the command, but it's not required.

Here's an example:

* Close the door. (This is a simple imperative sentence)

* Close the door! (This is an imperative sentence with emphasis)
