Is it proper grammar for you Jim and I?

It depends on how you're using it!

* If you're the subject of the sentence: "Jim and I are going to the movies." This is correct grammar.

* If you're the object of the sentence: "She gave the tickets to Jim and me." This is correct grammar.

Remember: Use "I" when you're the subject of a verb, and "me" when you're the object of a verb.
