What part of speech is deliberately?

"Deliberately" is an adverb.

Here's why:

* Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They tell us how, when, where, or to what extent something happens.

* In a sentence, "deliberately" would answer questions like:

* How did they do it? (They did it deliberately.)

* To what extent were they involved? (They were deliberately involved.)

Example:

* "He deliberately ignored her question." (Modifies the verb "ignored")
