What does an adjective describe?

An adjective describes a noun or pronoun. It tells us more about the qualities, characteristics, or states of the noun or pronoun.

Think of it like adding details to a picture:

* Noun: The cat

* Adjective: The fluffy cat.

* Adjective: The big, grey cat.

The adjectives "fluffy", "big", and "grey" tell us more about the cat.

Here are some examples of adjectives:

* Color: red, blue, green, yellow

* Size: small, large, tiny, huge

* Shape: round, square, rectangular, triangular

* Quality: happy, sad, angry, excited

* Quantity: many, few, some, all
