What does an adjective not do to a noun or pronoun?

An adjective does not change the grammatical function of a noun or pronoun. Here's what I mean:

* Adjectives describe: They tell us more about the noun or pronoun, adding qualities, characteristics, or details.

* Nouns and pronouns remain nouns and pronouns: Even with adjectives, the noun or pronoun still acts as the subject, object, or other grammatical element in the sentence.

Example:

* The blue car is fast.

* "Blue" describes the car, but the car is still the subject of the sentence.

Therefore, adjectives do not change the grammatical function of a noun or pronoun, they simply modify them.
