What is the meaning of hence?

"Hence" is an adverb that means "from this place", "from this time", or "for this reason".

Here are some examples of how "hence" is used:

* "From this place": "We walked hence to the nearest town." (meaning we walked away from our current location)

* "From this time": "Ten years hence, the world will be a very different place." (meaning in ten years from now)

* "For this reason": "The project was poorly planned, hence its failure." (meaning because of the poor planning)

Note: "Hence" is often used interchangeably with "therefore" or "thus", but it can also imply a more direct causal link.
