What part of speech is claim?

"Claim" can be several parts of speech depending on its usage:

* Noun: When referring to a statement asserting something as a fact.

* Example: "Her claim to the throne was disputed."

* Verb: When referring to the act of asserting something as a fact or right.

* Example: "They claim to be the best in the business."

* Adjective: Though less common, "claim" can be used as an adjective to describe something that is claimed as belonging to someone.

* Example: "This is my claim land."

To determine the part of speech, consider the context in which it is used.
