Where does the word eureka come from?

The word "Eureka" comes from the Greek phrase "εὕρηκα" (heurēka), which translates to "I have found it!"

It's famously attributed to the ancient Greek mathematician and inventor Archimedes.

The story goes that Archimedes was tasked with determining if a crown made for the king was actually pure gold. He was struggling to find a solution until one day, while taking a bath, he realized that the amount of water displaced by his body was equal to the volume of his body. He jumped out of the bath and ran through the streets shouting "Eureka!"
