Is Unabridged an example of anapest?

"Unabridged" is not an example of anapest.

Here's why:

* Anapest: An anapest is a metrical foot in poetry consisting of two unstressed syllables followed by one stressed syllable (˘˘/).

* Unabridged: The word "unabridged" has a stressed syllable followed by two unstressed syllables (/-˘˘). This pattern is called a dactyl, the opposite of an anapest.

Example of Anapest:

"The sún | did shíne | with gólden ráys"

Example of Dactyl:

"Ún | a brídged | ver | sión"
