What is prossessive noun?

A possessive noun shows ownership or belonging. It tells us who or what something belongs to.

Here's how to identify possessive nouns:

* They usually end in 's:

* The dog's bone

* John's car

* The children's toys

* For plural nouns ending in 's', just add an apostrophe:

* The boys' bikes

* For singular nouns ending in 's', you can add either an apostrophe or an apostrophe 's':

* The boss's office OR The boss' office

* For singular nouns that don't end in 's', add an apostrophe 's':

* The cat's meow

* The woman's handbag

* The baby's rattle

Examples:

* My book (The book belongs to me)

* The cat's tail (The tail belongs to the cat)

* The company's profits (The profits belong to the company)

* The team's victory (The victory belongs to the team)

Remember: Possessive nouns are often used with adjectives, verbs, and other nouns to create complete sentences.
