Is a verb or pronoun?

"A" is neither a verb nor a pronoun. It is an article.

* Articles are words that come before nouns to specify whether the noun is singular or plural and whether it is definite or indefinite.

* Verbs express actions or states of being.

* Pronouns replace nouns.

Here's an example:

* The dog is running. (The is an article, dog is a noun, running is a verb)

* He is playing. (He is a pronoun, playing is a verb)
