What are the examples of simile?

Here are some examples of similes, categorized by their function:

Comparing Appearance:

* Her eyes were like stars. (comparing brightness)

* The sunset was as red as a fire truck. (comparing color)

* He was as tall as a skyscraper. (comparing size)
