What is a homophone?

A homophone is a word that sounds the same as another word but has a different meaning and spelling.

Here are some examples:

* To/Too/Two: All sound the same but have different meanings (preposition, adverb, number).

* See/Sea: Sound the same but refer to vision and a large body of water.

* Hear/Here: Sound the same but refer to sound and location.

Homophones can often be tricky for language learners and even native speakers because they can easily be confused in writing and speech.
