What is the meaning of hue?

"Hue" refers to the pure color of something, without considering its lightness or darkness (value) or how much white or black is mixed in (saturation).

Think of it this way:

* Hue is the name of the color: red, blue, green, yellow, etc.

* Saturation is how intense the color is: a bright red vs. a dull red.

* Value is how light or dark the color is: a dark red vs. a light pink.

So, when you talk about hue, you're only focusing on the pure color itself, without taking into account its other qualities.

Here are some examples:

* A red apple has a hue of red.

* A sky blue sky has a hue of blue.

* A bright yellow sunflower has a hue of yellow.

Understanding hue is important in fields like art, design, and printing, as it helps us to accurately describe and identify colors.
