What countries do not end in a vowel?

There are a few countries that don't end in a vowel, but it depends on how you define "country."

Countries ending in consonants:

* Chad

* Sudan

* Burundi

* Luxembourg

* Czech Republic

* Bangladesh

Countries that end in a vowel, but are often referred to by shortened forms ending in a consonant:

* The United States (often shortened to "the States")

* The Philippines (often shortened to "the Pines")

Important Notes:

* "The" is a definite article and not part of the actual country name.

* Some countries have different official names in different languages. For example, the official name of "England" is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland."

* This list is not exhaustive. There may be other countries that fit the criteria depending on the specific definition of "country."

It's worth noting that many countries do end in vowels, so this is a rather small group!
