What does a hard g sound like?

A hard "g" sound is the one you make at the beginning of words like:

* Go

* Get

* Good

It's a strong, definite sound, almost like you're pushing air out of your throat.

Here are some tips to help you hear the difference:

* Think of the "g" in "gate." The "g" in "gate" is a hard "g."

* Think of the "g" in "gem." The "g" in "gem" is a soft "g" (more like "j").

Let me know if you'd like to practice some words with hard "g" sounds!
