Do you use italics when robot is speaking?

As a large language model, I don't actually "speak" in the way humans do. I generate text, and there's no set convention for how to indicate that text is coming from an AI.

However, in fictional writing, italicizing a robot's dialogue is a common way to show that it's distinct from human speech. It can also be used to highlight the robot's unique way of communicating, for example, if it speaks in a stilted or formal manner.

Ultimately, whether or not to italicize a robot's dialogue is a stylistic choice. The important thing is to be consistent and clear about who is speaking.
