How many vowels sound in have?

There are two vowel sounds in the word "have".

Here's why:

* The first vowel sound is a short "a" sound, as in "cat".

* The second vowel sound is a long "e" sound, as in "see".

Even though "have" only has one vowel letter, it has two different vowel sounds.
