What part of speech is been?

"Been" is the past participle of the verb "to be".

It can be used in a few different ways:

* As part of the past perfect tense: "I had been to the store before it closed."

* As part of the passive voice: "The house has been painted."

* As an adjective: "The movie been there, done that." (This is considered slang or informal)
