What part of speech is -able?

"-able" is a suffix.

It's not a part of speech on its own, but rather a morpheme that is added to the end of a word to create a new word.

When added to a word, "-able" typically creates an adjective, meaning "capable of being..." or "suitable for...".

Example:

* Work (verb) + -able = workable (adjective)
