What does el Alamo mean in English?

"El Alamo" is Spanish for "The Alamo."

It's the name of a famous historical site in San Antonio, Texas. It was originally a Spanish mission, and later became a fort where Texan soldiers fought a heroic but ultimately unsuccessful battle against the Mexican army in 1836.
