What is the British English word for freeway?

In British English, there isn't a direct equivalent to "freeway". However, the most common terms are:

* Motorway: This is the most common term for a high-speed, limited-access highway in the UK.

* Expressway: This term is also used, but less commonly than "motorway".

You may also see the term "dual carriageway" which refers to a road with two separate carriageways for traffic travelling in opposite directions, which is a common feature of motorways.
