Are there any words with eight or more syllables?

While it's rare to find words with eight or more syllables in everyday English, they do exist. These words are often technical terms or very long proper nouns:

Words with eight syllables:

* Incomprehensibilities (10 syllables) - the state of being impossible to understand

* Antidisestablishmentarianism (12 syllables) - opposition to the separation of church and state

Words with nine syllables:

* Floccinaucinihilipilification (13 syllables) - the act of estimating something as worthless

* Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (15 syllables) - a nonsensical word from the musical Mary Poppins, meaning something fantastic or wonderful

Words with even more syllables:

* Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (45 syllables) - a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine silica dust

* Antiperistaltic (10 syllables) - referring to a reverse movement of the intestines

Keep in mind that some of these words are considered archaic or humorous, and their use is limited. However, they do demonstrate the potential for very long words in the English language.
