What part of speech is panic?

"Panic" can be two different parts of speech, depending on how it is used:

* Noun: When referring to a sudden, overwhelming fear or anxiety.

* Example: "The sudden fire caused panic among the guests."

* Verb: When referring to the act of becoming frightened and acting without thinking.

* Example: "The hikers panicked when they saw the bear."
