Who developed cuneiform the earlist form of writing?

Cuneiform writing was developed by the Sumerians, an ancient civilization that flourished in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq) around 3500-2300 BCE.

While we can't pinpoint a single inventor, it was a gradual process of evolution from their earlier system of using clay tokens to represent goods. Over time, these tokens were pressed into clay tablets, creating impressions that eventually evolved into the wedge-shaped marks that characterize cuneiform.
