Where do people write in cuneiform?

Cuneiform is an ancient writing system that is no longer used. It was last written in the 1st century AD, and there are no known active communities that write in cuneiform today.

However, cuneiform was used in ancient Mesopotamia, which is modern-day Iraq, as well as in parts of Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon. It was used for a variety of purposes, including writing down laws, literature, and business records.

Today, scholars and historians study cuneiform and continue to decipher and translate ancient texts. They do this by studying tablets and other artifacts that have been excavated from archaeological sites. You can find examples of cuneiform writing in museums around the world, and there are even online resources that allow you to learn about the script and practice writing it.
