What is the Latin root origin of word width?

The word "width" doesn't have a direct Latin root. It actually comes from the Old English word "wīd", meaning "wide".

While "wide" doesn't have a Latin origin, it's interesting to note that "wide" is related to the German word "weit" and the Dutch word "wijd", all of which stem from the Proto-Germanic word "wīda".

So, although there's no direct Latin connection, "width" ultimately traces back to a common Germanic root.
