Is in French masculine or feminine?

"In" is a preposition in French and it does not have a gender. Prepositions are not assigned genders in French.

However, the word following "in" will determine the agreement of any adjective or verb that follows. For example:

* "In the garden" (Dans le jardin) - "Jardin" is masculine, so the adjective would agree with it.

* "In the house" (Dans la maison) - "Maison" is feminine, so the adjective would agree with it.
