How many plosives are there in English?

There are six plosive consonants in English:

* p as in "pin"

* b as in "bin"

* t as in "tin"

* d as in "din"

* k as in "kin"

* g as in "gin"

These sounds are created by completely blocking the airflow in the mouth and then releasing it abruptly.
