What is shinsetsu mean?

"Shinsetsu" (新説) in Japanese means "new theory" or "new interpretation". It's made up of two parts:

* 新 (shin): new

* 説 (setsu): theory, explanation, interpretation

So, "shinsetsu" is used to refer to a new theory or a novel interpretation of an existing idea or event.

For example, you might hear someone say:

* "This is a shinsetsu about the origins of the universe."

* "The author presented a shinsetsu on the meaning of the novel."

It's important to note that "shinsetsu" doesn't necessarily imply that the theory is correct or accepted, just that it's new and different from previous explanations.
