The Animal in Me
Within my bones, a wolf does prowl,
A primal hunger, fierce and bold.
He yearns for freedom, to break the cowl,
To chase the sun, a story untold.
A hummingbird beats its wings within,
A restless heart, forever seeking.
To flit from flower to flower, to spin,
A tapestry of joy, a gentle speaking.
A lioness slumbers, deep inside,
A strength untold, a fierce protector.
She guards the heart, her watchful stride,
A fierce defender, no time for detractor.
A gentle deer, with eyes so bright,
Looks out at the world, with tender grace.
It finds beauty in the darkest night,
And seeks solace in every sacred space.
The animal within, a chorus of sound,
A symphony of instinct, wild and free.
In every moment, I am found,
A tapestry of life, forever me.
