Where does the word vision come from?

The word "vision" comes from the Latin word "visio", which means "sight, seeing, appearance". It ultimately derives from the Latin verb "videre", meaning "to see".

Over time, the word "vision" evolved to encompass not only the act of seeing, but also the ability to imagine and foresee the future, as well as a clear perception of what is possible and desirable.

So, while it originates from the physical sense of sight, "vision" has taken on a much broader and more abstract meaning in modern language.
