What part of speech is plateau?

"Plateau" can be two different parts of speech depending on how it's used:

* Noun: When referring to a flat, elevated area of land, it's a noun.

* Example: "We hiked to the top of the plateau."

* Verb: When describing a period of little or no change or progress, it's a verb.
