What does density mean in your own words?

Imagine you have two boxes, the same size. One is filled with feathers, the other with rocks. Even though the boxes are the same size, they feel very different, right? That's because the rocks are denser than the feathers.

Density is basically how much "stuff" is packed into a certain space. It's like a measure of how tightly packed the particles are. So, the rocks have more "stuff" squeezed into the same space as the feathers, making them denser.

Think of it this way:

* High density: Lots of "stuff" in a small space (like rocks)

* Low density: Not much "stuff" in the same space (like feathers)

Density is important because it helps us understand how things will behave. For example, a denser object will sink in water, while a less dense object will float.
