वृक्षाणां महत्त्वम् (Vṛkṣāṇām Mahatvam): The Importance of Trees
वृक्षाः (Vṛkṣāḥ) प्राणिनां (Prāṇināṁ) जीवनाय (Jīvanāya) अति महत्त्वपूर्णाः (Ati Mahatvapūrṇāḥ) सन्ति (Santi). ते (Te) न केवलं (Na Kevalaṁ) आपणं (Āpaṇaṁ) प्रदान्ति (Pradānti) किन्तु (Kintu) प्राणिनां (Prāṇināṁ) आवासः (Āvāsaḥ) अपि (Api) सन्ति (Santi).
वृक्षाः (Vṛkṣāḥ) वायुमण्डलं (Vāyumaṇḍalaṁ) शुद्धं (Śuddhaṁ) करन्ति (Karanti) तथा (Tathā) कार्बन डायोक्साइड (Kārbana Ḍāyokṣaiḍ) शोषन्ति (Śoṣanti). ते (Te) भूमिः (Bhūmiḥ) क्षरणं (Kṣaraṇaṁ) निवारयन्ति (Nivārayanti) तथा (Tathā) जल (Jala) संग्रहणं (Saṁgrahaṇaṁ) करन्ति (Karanti).
वृक्षाः (Vṛkṣāḥ) आयुर्वेदस्य (Āyurvedasya) उपयोगी (Upayogī) औषधम् (Auṣadhaṁ) अपि (Api) सन्ति (Santi). वृक्षेषु (Vṛkṣeṣu) अनेक (Anekāḥ) फलानि (Phalāni) तथा (Tathā) बीजानि (Bījānī) उत्पद्यन्ते (Utpadyante) यानि (Yāni) आहारार्थं (Āhārārthaṁ) उपयोगी (Upayogī) सन्ति (Santi).
वृक्षाः (Vṛkṣāḥ) सौन्दर्यं (Saubandaryam) वर्धयन्ति (Vardhayanti) तथा (Tathā) शान्ति (Śānti) ददाति (Dadāti). ते (Te) पक्षिनां (Pakṣināṁ) तथा (Tathā) अन्य (Anyāḥ) जीवनां (Jīvanāṁ) निवासस्थानम् (Nivāsasthānaṁ) अपि (Api) सन्ति (Santi).
अतः (Ataḥ) वृक्षाः (Vṛkṣāḥ) आवश्यक (Āvaśyaka) सन्ति (Santi) तथा (Tathā) तेषां (Teṣāṁ) रक्षणम् (Rakṣaṇaṁ) करिष्यमाणम् (Kariṣyamāṇaṁ) आवश्यकम् (Āvaśyakam).
Meaning:
Trees are extremely important for the life of living beings. They not only provide us with oxygen but also serve as homes for many creatures. Trees purify the atmosphere and absorb carbon dioxide. They prevent soil erosion and help in water conservation.
Trees are also useful medicinal plants in Ayurveda. Many fruits and seeds grow on trees that are used for food.
Trees enhance beauty and provide peace. They are also a habitat for birds and other living beings.
Therefore, trees are necessary and it is essential to protect them.
