What is the Maori word for color?

There isn't one single word for "color" in Māori. Instead, Māori uses descriptive phrases to indicate color.

For example:

* Whero (red)

* Kikorangi (green)

* Parauri (brown)

* Mangu (black)

* Ma (white)

* Kākāriki (green, specifically the color of the kākāriki parrot)

You can also use the phrase "Tae o..." (meaning "the color of...") followed by an object of that color. For example:

* "Tae o te rangi" (the color of the sky, meaning blue)

* "Tae o te whenua" (the color of the earth, meaning brown)

So, depending on the specific color you need, you can choose the appropriate Māori word or phrase.
