What do you call the opposite of alee?

The opposite of "alee" is windward.

Here's why:

* Alee refers to the direction downwind, away from the wind.

* Windward refers to the direction upwind, towards the wind.

So, if you're sailing and you're "alee," you're on the leeward side of the boat. If you're "windward," you're on the windward side of the boat.
