How do you change nouns into adjectives?

There are several ways to change nouns into adjectives:

1. Adding Suffixes:

* -al: national (from nation)

* -ful: beautiful (from beauty)

* -ous: courageous (from courage)

* -ic: historic (from history)

* -y: cloudy (from cloud)

* -ish: boyish (from boy)

* -like: childlike (from child)

* -en: golden (from gold)

* -an: American (from America)

2. Using Compound Words:

* Noun + Noun: sunbeam (from sun and beam)

* Noun + Adjective: snow-white (from snow and white)

3. Using Prepositions:

* Noun + of: city of Rome (from city and Rome)

* Noun + with: house with a garden (from house and garden)

4. Using Prefixes:

* un-: unhappy (from happy)

* in-: inaccurate (from accurate)

5. Other Methods:

* Changing the Ending: The noun "hero" can become the adjective "heroic."

* Using a related noun: The noun "anger" can become the adjective "angry."

Examples:

* Noun: tree Adjective: tree-like, wooden

* Noun: ocean Adjective: oceanic

* Noun: star Adjective: starry

* Noun: rain Adjective: rainy

* Noun: book Adjective: bookish

Note: Some nouns already function as adjectives without any changes. For example: "gold" can be used as a noun or an adjective (a gold ring).
