Is are a noun pronoun or an adjective?

"Are" is a verb. It's the plural form of the present tense of "to be".

Here's why it's not a noun, pronoun, or adjective:

* Noun: Nouns name people, places, things, or ideas. "Are" doesn't name anything.

* Pronoun: Pronouns replace nouns. "Are" doesn't replace any nouns.

* Adjective: Adjectives describe nouns. "Are" doesn't describe anything.
