Is confusion a prefix or suffix?

"Confusion" is neither a prefix nor a suffix. It is a complete word in itself.

* Prefixes are added to the beginning of a word to change its meaning (e.g., "un-" in "unhappy").

* Suffixes are added to the end of a word to change its meaning or grammatical function (e.g., "-ing" in "running").

"Confusion" is formed from the verb "confuse" with the addition of the suffix "-ion".
