Is young a proper or common noun?

"Young" is an adjective. It describes a noun, such as "young man," "young woman," or "young tree."

Here's why it's not a noun:

* Proper nouns are specific names of people, places, or things (e.g., John, London, Eiffel Tower).

* Common nouns are general names for people, places, or things (e.g., boy, city, building).

"Young" itself doesn't refer to a specific person, place, or thing. It's a word that modifies another noun to describe its age.
