What language does paper derived from?

Paper is derived from the Latin word "papyrus".

Papyrus was a writing material made from the papyrus plant, which was used in ancient Egypt and other parts of the Mediterranean. The word "papyrus" itself comes from the Greek word "πάπυρος" (pápyros).

Over time, the word "papyrus" evolved into the English word "paper", even though the materials used to make paper today are different from papyrus.
