When do you capitalize the word reception?

You capitalize "reception" when it is:

* Part of a proper noun:

* "The Reception at the Embassy was lavish." (Referring to a specific event)

* "The Reception Hall was filled with guests." (Referring to a specific location)

* The beginning of a sentence:

* "Reception for the wedding will be held in the garden."

You do not capitalize "reception" when it is used as a general term:

* "The hotel offered a warm reception to its guests."

* "They received a good reception for their new product."
