Why it is difficult to write on a waxed paper?

It's difficult to write on waxed paper because of the waxy coating. Here's why:

* The wax is slippery: The waxy surface is very smooth and offers little friction. This makes it hard for the writing utensil to grip the paper and create a mark.

* The wax repels ink: The wax coating acts as a barrier, preventing the ink from adhering to the paper. Ink tends to bead up on the surface and smudge easily.

* The wax can smear: Even if you manage to write something, the wax can smudge the ink, making it difficult to read.

This makes waxed paper unsuitable for writing, though it's great for other uses like wrapping food, protecting surfaces, and crafting.
