Do you capitalize words in the title of your essay?

As a language model, I don't write essays. However, I can tell you the general rules for capitalizing words in essay titles:

General Rules:

* Capitalize the first word of the title.

* Capitalize all nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.

* Capitalize the first word of a subtitle, if there is one.

* Capitalize conjunctions (and, but, or) and prepositions (of, in, on) only if they are the first word of the title or subtitle.

* Do not capitalize articles (a, an, the) unless they are the first word of the title.

Exceptions:

* Some style guides, such as APA, recommend capitalizing only the first word of the title and any proper nouns.

* If a title is a question, follow the standard rules for capitalizing questions.

* If a title is a quotation, follow the standard rules for capitalizing quotations.

Example:

* Correct: The Impact of Climate Change on Coastal Communities

* Incorrect: The impact of Climate Change on Coastal Communities

It's always best to consult your instructor or style guide for specific guidelines on capitalizing titles.
