What languages are spoken in Columbia?

The official language of Colombia is Spanish.

However, Colombia is a very diverse country with a large indigenous population. As a result, there are over 65 indigenous languages spoken throughout the country. Some of the most prominent indigenous languages include:

* Wayúu (spoken in the Guajira peninsula)

* Nasa Yuwe (spoken in the southwestern region)

* Emberá (spoken in the western region)

* Arhuaco (spoken in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta)

* Kogui (also spoken in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta)

In addition to Spanish and indigenous languages, there are also some regional dialects of Spanish spoken in different parts of Colombia.

It's important to note that the status of these languages varies greatly. Spanish is the dominant language used in government, education, and media. Indigenous languages are often spoken in rural communities and face challenges in terms of preservation and recognition.
