What part of speech is bias?

"Bias" can be several parts of speech depending on its usage:

* Noun: This is the most common usage. It refers to a prejudice or inclination that prevents impartial judgment.

* Example: "There was a clear bias in the news report."

* Verb: This is less common but still used. It means to influence unfairly or show prejudice towards.

* Example: "The judge tried to avoid bias in the case."

* Adjective: This is even less common, but it can be used to describe something that is prejudiced or inclined towards a particular viewpoint.

* Example: "A biased sample is not representative of the whole population."

Therefore, without context, it's difficult to determine the specific part of speech. However, in most cases, "bias" will function as a noun.
